Penstemon digitalis 'Blackbeard,' or simply Blackbeard Beardtongue, is a cultivar of beardtongue which grows to between two and three feet tall, and which was selected for its showy pink-purple flowers, supported by burgundy-purple leaves and stems, which mature to a deep eggplant purple later in the season.

'Blackbeard' maintains its upright habit all through its growing season, and its blooms are attractive to pollinators and hummingbirds, and all serve well in cut flower arrangements.
