Lobelia siphilitica (Great Blue Lobelia) is a native, short-lived, colony forming perennial typically found in wet prairies, pond and creek margins, marshland borders, and other low-lying or typically moist areas. Great blue lobelia grows to between three and four feet tall, and though individual plants have very little spread, they can colonize an area over time.

With bright blue flowers that bloom from mid summer into the early fall and attract various kinds of pollinators, Lobelia siphilitica is an ideal choice for pollinator gardens, but its shade and wet soil tolerance also make it a great pick for woodland gardens, rain gardens, wetland restoration projects, and naturalized plantings in a wide variety of locations.

These specific Lobelia siphilitica were grown from seed and raised here at Unity Church Hill Nursery.
