Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam' is a cultivar of threadleaf tickseed, an upright perennial wildflower commonly found in prairies and open field conditions across North America. The 'Moonbeam' cultivar is noted for its more compact growth form than its parent species and its pale yellow, daisy-like flowers with darker yellow center disks.
'Moonbeam' grows to around two feet tall, compared to its straight species height of around three feet, but still makes for an excellent medium height wildflower, with its long-lasting blooms appearing in June and persisting until August. 'Moonbeam' has the added benefit of being tolerant of drought, high heat and humidity, and poor soil conditions.
Coreopsis verticillata flowers are attractive to a number of pollinators, including several endangered butterfly species and a number of specialist bees.
