Agastache x 'Blue Fortune' is a hybrid cultivar of two Agastache species, Agastache foeniculum, native to the US, and Agastache rugosa, native to east Asia. As a cross of two show species, 'Blue Fortune,' is named for its long-blooming, fragrant, bluish-purple flower spikes, which bloom from the mid summer into the late fall and grows to a manageable size of 2-3' tall and 1-2' wide, perfect for pollinator gardens and small spaces.
Fast-growing and clump-forming by nature, 'Blue Fortune' blooms are upright, attractive in the garden, and valuable to hummingbirds, butterflies, and other kinds of pollinators, including native bumblebees. Once established, Agastache x 'Blue Fortune' is drought tolerant, tolerant of some light shade, and resistant to deer and rabbits. With fragrant foliage and attractive blooms, this plant makes a great addition to pollinator gardens and border plantings, but also thrives in an herb garden setting. The 'Blue Fortune' cultivar, although not truly native, is considered one of the best selections for combined ornamental and ecological appeal, producing showy flowers with a ton of pollinator value.
