Heuchera villosa 'Autumn Bride' is a light-green cultivar of Heuchera villosa, a coral bell noted for the fine, velvety hairs that cover the plants stems and leaves; though not as neon as 'Citronelle,' 'Autumn Bride' is still a great cultivar for contrasting with darker colored plants. As with all coral bells, Heuchera villosa 'Autumn Bride' performs best in rich organic soil in part to full-shade, but is also capable of slightly more sun tolerance, sometimes preferring part shade, but foliage may begin to discolor or bleach if not provided with consistent water in more direct sun.
As a larger cultivar of Heuchera, 'Autumn Bride' grows up to 18" tall and forms mounds of up to three feet wide, making it a great groundcover choice, as well as a great choice for shaded landscapes. This coral bell's flowers also match its slightly larger size, and blooming spikes of cream white flowers can reach up to three feet tall in the late summer and fall. Selected as a Mt. Cuba Center top performer, and given 4.0 out of 5 possible points, 'Autumn Bride' is well regarded for its attractive foliage and long-lasting blooms.
