Greek oregano is a low-growing perennial herb regarded as one of the ideal culinary herbs of Greek and Italian cooking. The plant is attractive, fragrant, and covered in dark green leaves with fine hairs and purple undersides; in the late summer, plants are also covered with fine white flowers that pollinators love!

Commonly used in soups, tomato sauces, and as a pizza topping, Greek oregano has a strong herbal flavor perfect for savory cooking, and can be used fresh or dried. Mature plants reach a height of 1-2', and will spread to fill containers or beds with a dense mat of foliage, without becoming too invasive over time.
