Well known for its flavorful, aromatic qualities, this lemongrass, originally endemic to India, is an excellent and versatile addition to the herb garden for its use in soups, teas, curries, and even homemade insect repellent.
Grows to 18-48" tall, with an upright habit; plants should be placed at least 12" apart. Stalks can be harvested as long as the plants have become established; plant material can be used fresh or dried. Lemongrass is listed as a tender perennial; over harvesting or cold winters may cause die-back like would be seen in an annual.
Plants are available in 4" containers beginning the week of 4/21.
