Hydrangea quercifolia 'Alice' is an excellent oakleaf hydrangea selection that's perfect for a variety of uses in the home garden. Maturing to a relatively large size of five to eight feet tall and wide, but occasionally even larger up to 12 feet, 'Alice' is a great hydrangea choice for larger foundation plantings and privacy hedges as well as specimen plantings. In early to mid summer, this cultivar produces large, white flower clusters with a beautiful arching curve; as the summer goes on, white blooms turn to pale pink and eventually dry to an attractive tan shade that persists through the fall and winter. This cultivar's flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, and combine with beautiful red-purple fall foliage and milk chocolate-colored exfoliating bark resulting in year-round interest.

This cultivar performs best in moist, fertile soil in full to part-sun areas, and works great in a variety of landscapes as long as it's kept relatively moist through the summer, 'Alice' is an outstanding addition to any larger landscape and will please pollinators as well as gardeners.
