Dr. Earth® Home Grown® Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Liquid Fertilizer is formulated to feed plants gently to promote robust and productive vegetable gardens. Our Home Grown® Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer is great for all types of vegetable gardens, both summer and winter, rooting and flowering gardens.

With an NPK ratio of 3-2-2, Dr. Earth® Home Grown® Tomato contains 3% Nitrogen, 2% Phosphorus, and 2% Potassium by volume, with the added benefits of a number of trace elements to aid in overall plant health and nutrient absorption, including Calcium, Sulfur, Magnesium, Iron, and Manganese. NPK are essential for healthy plant growth, but all elements aid in photosynthesis and healthy plant development. In greater detail:

  • Nitrogen aids in rapid growth, better production of seeds and fruit, and improves the health and quality of foliage and plant tissues.
  • Phosphorus root growth and shoot structure, helps the plant set buds and develop flowers, improves overall vitality and vigor, and increases the healthy mature size of the plant.
  • Potassium helps build vital proteins within plant cells, improves the overall quality of plant fruits, and increases plants' ability to withstand disease.
  • Calcium can be used to reinforce structure in plant roots and stems by giving more strength to cell walls; strong cell walls can additionally help prevent disease, and in the case of tomatoes, help prevent fruit from rotting on the vine.
  • Magnesium is the central element of the chlorophyll molecule, making it another vital ingredient of photosynthesis, and can also be used in the activation of plant enzyme systems, which are vital parts of different plant life stages.
  • Sulfur, like Potassium and Magnesium, is used in the formation of plant proteins and enzyme function, making it necessary in a variety of plant life stages.
  • Iron is another element that is key to photosynthesis and chlorophyll production, and trace amounts in fertilizer have been linked to increased crop yield
  • Manganese functions both as an activator of enzymes (like Magnesium) as well as an ingredient of some enzymes, making it key to a variety of plant processes. In addition, the production of lignin, which helps plants with upright structure and healthy stem production, relies on Manganese.

With moderate amounts of several different key elements, as well as a number of other trace elements vital to healthy plant growth, Dr. Earth® Home Grown® Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Liquid Fertilizer is an excellent plant food to ensure that garden crop plants thrive and produce higher yields. In their 32oz bottles, Dr. Earth® Home Grown® Tomato comes with a hose-attachment sprayer nozzle, which means perfect dilution every time just by attaching and watering plants like normal.

While we like to recommend the use of organic compost blends as the most reliable method to provide extra nutrients with a decreased risk of over-fertilizing, Dr. Earth® Home Grown® is a great wide-spectrum, low-dose fertilizer that works great for feeding and supporting tomato and garden plant  health throughout the growing season.

Available in 32oz bottles.
