Eupatorium dubium, syn. Eutrochium dubium 'Baby Joe' is a compact Joe Pye weed cultivar  that grows to only 2-3' tall with a narrow spread of only 1-2'. The 'Baby Joe' cultivar is notable for its comparison to larger Joe Pye weed cultivars, which may reach up to 5' or more! 'Baby Joe' has all the pollinator and butterfly appeal of larger Joe Pye weeds with a much smaller footprint in the home landscape.

As a Joe Pye, 'Baby Joe' is wet-loving with an upright growth habit with purple-spotted, relatively unbranched stems; like other Joe Pye weeds, this cultivar produces large dome-shaped clusters of small, pale lavender flowers beginning in mid-summer and lasting until early fall. 'Baby Joe' is very adaptable to a variety of soil types, resistant to deer damage, wet soils, and common diseases that affect other Eutrochium and Eupatorium.
