Agastache foeniculum, also called anise hyssop, is an upright, native perennial wildflower that thrives in drought-prone areas and pollinator gardens. Agastache foeniculum performs well in both full sun and part shade environments, as well as a variety of soil types, which makes it a great choice for a variety of garden environments. With fragrant leaves and attractive light-purple flowers that bloom through the summer and into the early fall, anise hyssop is one of the best home garden choices for attracting and supporting native bees.

Although it works great for wildflower gardens, meadows, and herb gardens, anise hyssop also works well in woodland gardens, thanks to its partial shade tolerance, and in border plantings and rock gardens, thanks to its manageable height of two to four feet. For smaller spaces, Agastache foeniculum also fits right in for herb gardens as its fragrant foliage can be made into teas or eaten in salads.
