Weigela florida 'Wine & Roses®' is a striking cultivar of Wiegela florida, a deciduous shrub originally native to east Asia. 'Wine & Roses®' is noted for its shiny, dark purple foliage and its profuse pink blooms, which appear in April and last until June. With a dwarfed growth habit over the original species, 'Wine & Roses®' grows to between four and five feet tall and wide, making it a popular choice to plant in groups for hedge and foundation plantings as well as individually for specimen planting.
Thriving in full sun and medium to dry soil moisture, Weigela florida 'Wine & Roses®' is naturally tolerance of deer browsing and its profuse pink flowers are especially attractive to hummingbirds, adding further appeal to the home garden.
