Famous among non-red varieties, Cherokee Purple tomato has dark-pink skin with mottled dark green-black shoulders as well as bold, complex flavors and a firm, meaty texture. Fruits are large and excellent for sandwich slices, salads, and tomato sauces! Cherokee Purple produces a moderate number of medium-sized fruits on relatively short vines.
Relatively bushy among tomatoes of this type, this variety can get up to 4-6' tall and will probably require staking. Cherokee Purple is an indeterminate tomato variety, and will continuously grow and produce fruit through the late spring and summer as long as it is provided with enough water, nutrients, and support.
