New for 2025!
Black Brandywine heirloom tomatoes date back to 1920, and have all the size and appeal of a traditional Brandywine tomato, but with the dark purple skin and exquisite flavor of a typical black tomato variety. Black Brandywine will also stand out in the garden as a potato-leaf tomato variety, with widely lobed leaves that are less cut-leaf than a traditional tomato. The black color of these fruits lends a deep, earthy and sweet flavor that works excellently for salsas, cooking, and eating fresh too.
As with most tomato plants, Black Brandywine can get very large, reaching a height of 5-7' tall and requiring staking to help hold up its heavy fruits, weighing a pound or more apiece. Additionally, Black Brandywine is an indeterminate tomato variety, and will continuously grow and produce fruit through the late spring and summer as long as it is provided with enough water, nutrients, and support.
Plants are available in 4" containers beginning the week of 4/21.
