Tiarella cordifolia var. collina 'Oakleaf', also called oakleaf foamflower, is a low-growing semi-evergreen perennial wildflower, differing from the parent species with its more profuse white blooms, its more compact spread, and its lobed, oak-like leaves. Closely related to, and occasionally mistaken for Heuchera species, both plants are well-regarded for their ornamental, occasionally variegated foliage and their heavy shade tolerance.

Tiarella cordifolia var. collina 'Oakleaf' grows best in part to full-shade in moist, organically rich soils and forms small clumps up to a foot tall and one to two feet wide, spreading via runners. Though foamflower should not be allowed to dry out, as its leaves will suffer, it should also not be left in areas with poorly draining, compacted soils. Flowers are attractive to bumblebees and other pollinators, and semi-evergreen foliage adds multi-season groundcover appeal with attractive red tints in the fall and winter.
