Solidago 'Dansolitlem' is a hybrid goldenrod cultivar also called 'Little Lemon.' Produced by breeder Gabriel Danziger in 2005, 'Little Lemon' is noted as one of the most compact Solidago cultivars available, growing to a tiny compact size of only about 14" tall by 18" wide. 'Little Lemon' is also notable for striking flowers, which are a few shades brighter and lighter than many of the other common goldenrod cultivars.
Like other goldenrods, 'Little Lemon' prefers full sun and medium-dry well-draining soil, but is tolerant of drought, poor soils, and some light shade. This Solidago cultivar is additionally resistant to damage from deer browsing, but is rather susceptible to rabbit damage. Mid summer to fall blooms are highly attractive to a number of pollinators, but especially bumblebees.
Note: While most Solidago species are native to North America, there are a few species that are native to Eurasia, so this patented hybrid may not be comprised of true American natives. Either way, Solidago is not an aggressive spreader and presents no risk of becoming invasive over time.
