Phlox subulata 'Scarlet Flame' is a cultivar of creeping phlox, a low growing, mat-forming, native evergreen perennial known for its flowers. The 'Scarlet Flame' cultivar is so named for the intense bright scarlet-magenta of its flowers, which are produced from mid to late spring. Eye-catching seas of red-pink blooms last for three to four weeks.

Also commonly referred to as moss phlox, creeping phlox is an excellent ground-cover plant, only growing to 4-6" tall and spreading easily. 'Scarlet Flame' is also tolerate of a wide variety of soils, which means it works great for edgings, borders, and in well-drained containers.
