'Blue Arrows' rush is a cultivar of Juncus inflexus, otherwise known as European meadow rush, noted for its deep blue-green foliage. Typically regarded as a low-maintenance alternative to some ornamental grasses, 'Blue Arrows' grows to around three feet tall, and spreads about 12".

Juncus inflexus is a tolerant species of rush, capable of tolerating a wide variety of soil types and soil moisture levels, and even tolerating seasonal standing water, making it a good pick for borders and containers as well as rain gardens. Although its tolerance of wet soils make it a sound like a good pick for wetland restoration projects at first glance, 'Blue Arrows' may end up mildly invasive in some areas, so choosing a good planting location is important.
