Summerific® 'Spinderella' is a hardy hybrid Hibiscus cultivar that grows 4-5' tall and wide with a dense, somewhat shrub-like habit. Already known for its attractive, dinner plate-sized flowers, this Hibiscus selection takes showy blooms to the next level with flowers up to 8" in diameter, and even pink and white petals that overlap in a beautiful spinning display around a red center eye. Summerific® 'Spinderella' typically blooms from July to September, with mature plants opening more and more blooms throughout this window. In addition to its eye-catching blooms, the 'Spinderella' cultivar is also well-regarded for its rich, dark green foliage that looks especially wonderful in masses or borders.

Since this cultivar reaches a consistent size time after time, 'Spinderella' is an excellent choice for more formal garden spaces as well as for wetland border plantings, rain gardens, or as a  specimen planting along ponds or streams where it will attract a number of pollinators, butterflies, and even hummingbirds. Although native to swampy areas, rose mallow will also do very well in the home garden if kept consistently moist; like many rose mallow, Summerific® 'Spinderella' grows best in full sun conditions with fertile soil.

Though 'Spinderella' is a hybrid cultivar, it is the resulting of several generations of cross-breeds between the species Hibiscus mosecheutos (native to Maryland) and Hibiscus coccineus (native to the American southeast as far north as Virginia).
