Heuchera x Forever® 'Midnight' (Coral Bells)

Heuchera x Forever® 'Midnight' is a hybrid coral bell cultivar noted for its eye-catching dark purple-black foliage as well as the other features of typical coral bells that growers love. This variety is shade-loving, low maintenance, and produces beautiful spikes of bell-shaped white flowers from early spring well into the fall. Forever® 'Midnight' is a great addition to any shaded area, contrasts excellently against brighter colored plants, and works very well as an underplanting for larger shrubs or trees.

Heuchera typically grow to about 12" tall with a spread of about 2' wide, and produce flower spikes rising slightly above this height, occasionally up to about 2'; due to the texture of their foliage, coral bells are commonly ignored by browsing deer. Blooms are attractive to butterflies, bees, and even hummingbirds, and the natural mound-forming growth behavior of Forever® 'Midnight' coral bell means that they will grow happily in masses, in grouped arrangements, or when planted next to other shade-loving perennials. Forever® 'Midnight' performs best in part-shade locations, but will tolerant full sun and full shade very well, making it a highly versatile pick for almost any garden locale.

Although 'Obsidian' is a hybrid, all ornamental Heuchera species are native to North America.
