Eutrochium purpureum Euphoria™ Ruby is a cultivar of sweet Joe Pye weed, a tall, upright wildflower perfect for a variety of garden types. Standing out from the crowd of other Joe Pye weeds with its striking ruby-red accented new growth, Euphoria™ Ruby is also a dwarf cultivar, growing to only 2-3' tall and wide as compared to the larger 4-7' height of its parent species. Thriving in fill sun and semi-shaded woodlands, sweet Joe Pye weed is one of the best butterfly magnets on the market, and with its added color and the versatility of a smaller footprint, Euphoria™ Ruby is sure to impress.

In mid-Summer, Euphoria™ Ruby produces a profusion of small, fragrant, purple-pink flowers in large corymb-style clusters atop its central stems; flowers are highly attractive to a large variety of butterflies, and plants can serve as host to a number of larval butterfly and moth species as well as hummingbirds and other pollinators. Thanks to its short stature, Euphoria™ Ruby sweet Joe Pye weed is less prone to flopping than other varieties and is relatively low maintenance, only requiring full sun to partial shade and medium-wet soil with good drainage. Although it's most popular for attracting pollinators, once Eutrochium purpureum Euphoria™ Ruby's flowers have begun to fade, Joe Pye also attracts a variety of songbirds with its seed, making it a valuable addition to any number of locations around the home.
