Epimedium 'Black Sea' is a unique cultivar prized known for its attractive black swirl patterns in the green foliage which appears in fall when temperatures drop. In spring, the spreading clumps are topped with masses of small light-yellow flowers are held on 14" tall stems above the foliage. Expect a 3' wide clump in 5 years under good growing conditions.

Easily grown in average, acidic, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in part to full shade. Tolerates full shade and foliage will burn in full afternoon sun. Foliage will remain semi evergreen in warmer climates and best to cut back foliage in late winter. Grows well under trees in woodland gardens.
