Echinacea x Postman is a hybrid coneflower cultivar in the Butterfly™ series of echinacea by AB-Cultivars. The 'Postman' cultivar, named for the Postman Butterfly, is noted for its highly ornamental flowers in shades of sunny yellow and bright orange before transitioning to true red or dark orange with red-tinged brown center cones, flowers which are sure to stand out from other pink or white echinacea offerings. This coneflower cultivar is relatively large and upright, growing to 30-36" tall and about as wide.

Butterfly™ 'Postman' is an excellent and attractive pick for a variety of garden locations and provides a ton of ecological benefits just like many other coneflower cultivars. This cultivar was, in fact, selected as a Top Performer in the Mt. Cuba Center Trial gardens, receiving a 4.6 out of 5 possible points for its high ornamental interest, long bloom season, and attractiveness to butterflies. 'Postman' flowers are attractive to a wide range of pollinators, and dried flowers provide seed for fall and winter birds. These coneflowers grow best in full sun, and well-drained dry to average soils, but are are additionally tolerant of deer damage, hot and dry locations, and a variety of soil types, making them an excellent pick for a variety of gardens.

While Butterfly™ Postman is a hybrid cultivar, all Echinacea species are native to North America.
