An improved, more refined 'Limelight' cultivar of panicle hydrangea with dense, vibrant flowers and a more consistent compact growth habit. Growing to only 3-5’ tall and wide, Hydrangea paniculata Little Lime® produces blooms that emerge cream white to lime green in mid-summer and maintain that color for a few weeks before transitioning to bubblegum pink and white; blooms eventually finish a rich, rose pink in the later summer months. Like all hydrangeas, when summer flowers begin to fade, dried flower heads add a ton of multi-season interest through the fall and winter.
Performing best in average, medium-moist, well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade, Little Lime® is a great choice for flowering hedge, low border, or small specimen shrub, but also works great in containers thanks to its smaller stature. This panicle hydrangea is best pruned in late winter or early spring to encourage new growth and profuse flowering, as Hydrangea paniculata produces blooms on new wood.
