One of the most frost and cold resistant variety of green onions on the market, 'Evergreen Hardy White' scallions are exceptionally cold-hardy, with large leafy green tops, and the mild flavor of most other spring onions. Commonly used in soups, garnish, and dips.Once mature, scallions can be harvested by digging up, but alternatively, these plants can be grown in containers and trimmed with scissors or kitchen repeatedly as long as the plants are well established.

Low growing, and more appropriate for raised beds or containers than full gardens, 'Evergreen Hardy White' scallions grow to 4-12" tall, and do fairly well when planted close together, optimally about 4-6" from one another.
