First Crops Available 3/18/26
Unity is offering multiple varieties of head and French/baby lettuce for the 2026 gardening season:
'Adriana' - Heat-tolerant, densely bundled butterhead lettuce with leaves 3-4" long; noted for good flavor and soft, buttery texture.
'Brown Goldring' - Tightly bundled, bronze-accented romaine lettuce; regarded as the best tasting lettuce over two years of study, with 80% of tasters citing the flavor as 'sweet.'
'Muir' - French lettuce variety with curly, crispy leaves; though plants grow as wide, loose heads, they can be harvested as fully heads or as baby lettuce. 'Muir' is additionally bolt resistant and can grow larger and longer than other lettuces.
'Winter Density' - Dense, sweet, head lettuce that's a cross of butterheads and romaine with the best of both worlds traits. Fast-growing with 8" leaves when mature; crispy, succulent texture.
New for 2026!
'Alkindus' - Attractive, glossy red butterhead variety with darker color (and better pest + disease resistance) than cultivars like 'Skyphos' and 'Red Cross.' Produces small, dense heads in the spring, and larger, more open heads in the summer.
