Among the peak annuals to attract beneficial insects to your garden, Alyssum produces large blankets of flower spikes with small white flowers. A favored nectar source for hoverflies (Family: Syrphidae) and lacewings (Family: Chrysopidae), these gorgeous flowers look good, smell great, and will help keep aphid populations low by attracting some of their biggest predators.
Mature plants reach a height of 8-12" and will spread to about as wide; long blooming, but can be dead-headed to promote even more blooms.
