Phlox subulata 'Drummond's Pink' is an exceptionally showy cultivar of creeping phlox, a low-growing, mat-forming, native evergreen perennial known for its flowers. Named for its showy blooms, 'Drummond's Pink' produces bright, rose-pink flowers through the mid-spring, with individual flowers quite a bit larger than other common creeping phlox varieties; with such big blooms, these flowers are a highly effective butterfly magnet.
Also commonly referred to as moss phlox, Phlox subulata 'Drummond's Pink' is an excellent ground-cover plant, only growing to 4-6" tall but spreading easily to form mats up to 18-24" in width. 'Drummond's Pink' moss phlox also grows well in a wide-variety of soils, provided that the site is well-draining, meaning that these gorgeous groundcovers work well for edgings and borders as well as for container growing, and these plants are even hardy enough to put on full blooms in the middle of scorching hot rock gardens.
