Sedum spurium 'John Creech' is a low-growing perennial succulent originally native to eastern Europe/western Asia. As a succulent, Sedum spurium is naturally low-growing, semi evergreen, and thrives in sunny, dry locations. The 'John Creech' cultivar further exentuates some of these traits, with this specific Sedum growing to only about 2" tall and spreading to form large mats, up to 2' wide. In late summer, 'John Creech' produces upright pink flowers, which are attractive to a number of pollinators.

Though fast-spreading and easy to propagate, Sedum spurium 'John Creech' is very shallow rooted and easy to remove, giving it a very low risk of becoming invasive over time. Its fast spread, however, works great for groundcover purposes, choking out weeds in the process. 'John Creech' is tolerant of drought, erosion, and poor soils, and its bitter taste and small size make it resistant to damage from deer and rabbits too. Sedum spurium 'John Creech' will perform best in average, occasionally acidic soils, and prefers things on the drier side; well-draining soil is a must, as plants will quickly suffer in standing water.
