Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' is an excellent showy cultivar of rough- or wrinkleleaf goldenrod, a bushy, clumping, perennial wildflower native to much of the eastern half of North America. Noted for its highly ornamental flowers and dark green foliage, 'Fireworks' puts on an explosive floral display from mid summer through the fall with dark green textured foliage and long, draping spikes of vibrant yellow flowers that are sure to leave a lasting impression. Blooms may be attractive to gardeners, but they're even more attractive to pollinators, pulling in a variety of bees, beetles, flies, and butterflies!

Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' grows to approximately 2-4' tall and wide, making it a great addition for low-lying borders, foundations, or small beds that need to be filled out, but it works great along naturalized meadows and forest edges too. Like most goldenrods, 'Fireworks' is very low maintenance, requiring only full sun, and medium-moist well-draining soils to thrive. This cultivar is tolerant of drought, wet soils, heat, humidity, and a variety of soil types, including poor and rocky soils, and often will thrive on neglect. Watch out for rabbits as the plant is getting established, and you should have no problems creating a nice patch of attractive, pollinator-attracting flowers for a long bloom-window throughout the year, as Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' is also tolerant of deer damage.
