'Golden Jubilee' is a golden-leaved cultivar of Agastache rugosa, also known as giant hyssop, an easy to grow, upright perennial herb originally native to East Asia. Attractive, lavender-blue flowers bloom from mid-summer to early fall in large spikes atop the golden, anise-scented foliage, adding late season color to the garden. Although Agastache rugosa is not originally native to the United States, and may spread over time by seed and root, giant hyssop is not considered an invasive species, though it may inadvertently hybridize with native Agastache species under the right conditions.
Agastache rugosa 'Golden Jubilee' typically grows to 18-36" tall in small patches up to 2' wide, and adds a welcome splash of lighter color to any border planting, herb garden, or pollinator meadow with fragrant leaves and flower spikes that attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. 'Golden Jubilee' thrives in a wide variety of light levels, soil types, and moisture conditions, and as an added benefit, is tolerant of periods of drought as well as rabbit and deer damage.
