Solidago caesia, commonly known as blue-stemmed goldenrod, is a small, shade-loving species of goldenrod which typically grows to 2-4' tall and 1-3' wide. Set apart from other goldenrods by its bluish-purple stems, blue-stemmed goldenrod produces small, scattered clusters of yellow flower heads during the late summer and early fall.

While some species of goldenrod spread aggressively, Solidago caesia is relatively small and relatively slow to spread, while still attracting many species of pollinators, larval butterfly, and birds. In addition, this species' tendency to prefer shadier spots over full sun makes it ideal choice for anywhere you want a great deal of pollinator appeal in locations with less than full sun.
