An award-winning cultivar of Echinacea purpurea, 'Pica Bella' is a sun-loving perennial that comes with bright, bold flowers and rosy, purple-pink petals that are held out in spikes without drooping like other coneflowers. 'Pica Bella' is an upright, summer bloomer with lasting blooms from late spring to late summer or fall, and grows to 24-36" tall, though occasionally as short as 12". The 'Pica Bella' cultivar was selected as the Top Performer of the Mt. Cuba Center Echinacea Trial Gardens, and scored 5 out of 5 possible points for its vibrant, long-lasting natural blooms and enhanced attractiveness to pollinators.

'Pica Bella' is excellent for cut flowers, and dead-heading blooms can prolong its bloom window, but when flower heads are left intact, they can last through the late fall and winter seasons, provides a food source for a variety of songbirds. 'Pica Bella' blooms attract butterflies, pollinators, and hummingbirds, and are additionally deer resistant and tolerant of drought, heat, and humidity. This cultivar thrives in full sun and average, dry to medium, well-drained soils, but can also tolerate more intense conditions including drought, poor soils, and deer browsing.
