A positively show-stopping cultivar of Echinacea purpurea, 'Pica Bella' is a sun-loving perennial that comes with bright, bold flowers and rosy, purple-pink petals that are held out in spikes without drooping like other coneflowers. 'Pica Bella' is an upright, summer bloomer with lasting blooms from earl summer well into the fall, typically growing to 2-3' tall in clumps about as wide. Out of 74 varieties and species within the Mt. Cuba Center Echinacea trial gardens, the 'Pica Bella' cultivar was selected as the apex Top Performer, scoring 5 out of 5 possible points for its vibrant, long-lasting natural blooms, good structure and habit, and enhanced attractiveness to pollinators.

'Pica Bella' is excellent for cut flowers, and dead-heading blooms can prolong the variety's bloom window,; alternatively, when flowers and dried seedheads are left intact, they can last through the late fall and winter seasons, providing a food source for a variety of songbirds through migration and lean winter months.
