The Altiplano variety of serrano pepper is a great big addition to the garden! With peppers up to 5" long, and flavor similar to jalapeños, this pepper can be used in many of the same ways as jalapeños, only larger and with a heftier kick! Serrano peppers can be used in chili, soups, and salsas, but with a Scoville range of 10,000-25,000, use them sparingly!
Relatively tall among peppers, Altiplano serranos can grow up to 24-36" tall, and grow best when spaced 18-24" apart. As with jalapeños, these peppers can be harvested green or red.
Plants are available in 4" containers the week of 5/7.
