Echinacea x hybrida Artisan™ 'Soft Orange' is a hybrid coneflower cultivar noted for its large, warm-colored summer to fall blooms, opening in a deep orange color before fading to softer hues of pumpkin and dark yellow. Growing to 18-36" tall in small clumps up to 2' wide, this coneflower cultivar stands out from many pink and white selections more commonly seen in nurseries and pollinator meadows.

'Soft Orange' echinacea is a part of the Artisan™ series, which are noted for their consistent plant structure and development, resulting in reliable blooms and reliable looks year after year. While Echinacea x hybrida Artisan™ 'Soft Orange' may stand out in terms of flower color, it originates from an Echinacea purpurea  parent plant, meaning that its seeds serve to feed birds, and its blooms attract all kinds of pollinators through the summer and fall. And, unlike many hybrid echinaceas, the 'Soft Orange' cultivar's seeds are not sterile, meaning that re-seeding with Echinacea x hybrida Artisan™ 'Soft Orange' seeds will result in even more beautiful orange blooms. Coneflowers grow best in full sun and in well-drained, dry to average soils, but are additionally tolerant of hot and dry locations, deer damage, and a variety of wide-ranging site conditions, making them an excellent pick for a variety of gardens.

While Artisan™ Soft Orange is a hybrid cultivar, all Echinacea species are native to North America.
