Echinacea x Sombrero 'Adobe Orange' is a hybrid coneflower cultivar in the Sombrero line of gorgeous, fiery colored coneflowers from Proven Winners. Noted for its attractive, eye-catching flowers in bright shades of brick orange, Sombrero 'Adobe Orange' is a compact cultivar, growing to only 18-20" tall and wide on average. Also noted for its vibrant dark green foliage, which contrasts wonderfully against its blooms, this coneflower hybrid is sure to impress in any garden space. Echinacea x Sombrero 'Adobe Orange' is an excellent and attractive pick for small garden spaces, pollinator gardens, containers, and in borders when planted en masse; beyond its ornamental value, this coneflower has a ton of ecological benefits, attractive pollinators and birds through almost every season.

While especially showy with its red-orange blooms, there's no need to worry about this echinacea's pollinator value, as Sombrero 'Adobe Orange' was one of just three red-orange varieties noted as highly attractive to pollinators in Mt. Cuba Center's echinacea test gardens (alongside the Sombrero 'Baja Burgundy' and Butterfly 'Postman' cultivars), earning it a rating of 3.3 out of 5 points. Beyond pollinators, fall and winter appeal to a number of bird species makes this tidy coneflower a welcome addition with tons of seasonal interest too. As with most coneflowers, Sombrero 'Adobe Orange' grows best in full to partial sun, and in well-drained medium-moist soils; again, like other coneflowers, this variety is tolerant of deer damage, hot and dry locations, and a variety of soil types, making them an excellent pick for a variety of gardens.
