Coreopsis 'Candy Stripes' is a hybrid tickseed cultivar in the Li'l Bang series from U.S.-based plant breeder Darrell Probst; the direct contrast to Probst's other famous tickseed series, Big Bang, the Li'l Bang Coreopsis all pack a lot of color into a smaller package. Noted for its attractive, candy-like appearance with yellow centers, dark pink petals, and scalloped white highlights, Li'l Bang 'Candy Stripes' is sure to be a sweet addition to any number of home garden locations, including in small spaces and containers. Though Li'l Bang 'Candy Stripes' is a hybrid of unknown parentage, all Coreopsis species are native to North, Central, and South America.

As a tickseed, 'Candy Stripes' has excellent tolerance to heat, drought, and full sun, but also puts on a better display than other low-growing ornamental tickseeds thanks to its multi-color blooms. Growing to only 10-15" tall with a similar spread, 'Candy Stripes' tickseed will eventually mature to form dense mats of attractive, delicate foliage and gorgeous floral displays that last all summer and into the fall. Attractive, eye-catching flowers are a source of nectar for a variety of bees and butterflies, and beyond ecological appeal, this cultivar's consistent, compact habit and its attractive, hardy habit make 'Candy Stripes' a great choice for a lot of different stubborn areas.
