Tiarella cordifolia 'Pink Bouquet' is a cultivar of foamflower, a small, native perennial wildflower, grown for its attractive groundcover foliage and showy, profuse flower spikes; in the case of the 'Pink Bouquet' cultivar, the foliage consists of green, deeply-lobed palmate leaves with deep, wine-colored central veins, and flower spikes with a pale pink tinge. Like other cultivars, 'Pink Bouquet' has a fairly compact and groundcover habit, but unlike other Tiarella, 'Pink Bouquet' produces lower growing flower spikes, to only about 10" tall, resulting in an impressive sea of flowers in the early to mid spring.
While compact in terms of height, foamflower also spreads via runners in the spring and fall, making for an effective groundcover or mass planting, with 'Pink Bouquet' spreading up to 12-18" per plant. Through fall and winter, this foamflower cultivar's semi-evergreen leaves fade to a bronze color, adding an eye-catching element to cold-season landscapes. Tiarella cordifolia 'Pink Bouquet' grows best in partial to full shade and medium-moist, fertile soils, and its bitter, fuzzy leaves tend to be enough to keep away grazing rabbits and deer, making for a long-lasting and beautiful shade planting.
