Phlox subulata 'Candy Stripes' is a cultivar of creeping phlox, a low growing, mat-forming, native evergreen perennial known for its flowers. The 'Candy Stripes' cultivar is so named for its mid to late spring flowers which are light pink with white stripes on the petal margins, resembling candy cane stripes.
Also commonly referred to as moss phlox, creeping phlox is an excellent ground-cover plant, only growing to 4-6" tall, but easily spreading to cover larger areas. 'Candy Stripes' also grows well in a wide-variety of soils, provided that it's well-draining, meaning that it works for edgings and border as well as container growing.
