Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam' is a cultivar of threadleaf tickseed, a compact perennial wildflower commonly found in prairies and open field conditions across North America. The 'Moonbeam' cultivar is noted for its more compact growth form of only 1-2' tall and wide as well as its pale butter yellow, daisy-like flowers with darker yellow center disks. While dainty, these pale yellow flowers are heady for a number of locations and will easily bloom and rebloom continuously through the warmer seasons.
'Moonbeam' coreopsis makes for an excellent low to medium height wildflower, in both naturalized and more formal plantings with its long-lasting blooms appearing in June and persisting until August and looking gorgeous when massed together. 'Moonbeam' also has the added benefit of being tolerant of drought, high heat and humidity, as well as poor soil conditions. Coreopsis verticillata flowers are attractive to a number of pollinators, including several endangered butterfly species and a number of specialist bees, adding a ton of pollinator appeal to its beauty.
