Thyme Creeping Unity Grown

Creeping thyme, occasionally called 'Mother of Thyme,' is a low-growing groundcover herb that is hardy enough and resistant enough to foot traffic to be used as a lawn substitute or filler in pathways. Similar to other varieties of thyme, creeping thyme is edible, with a minty, herbal flavor perfect for seasoning or teas. Purple flowers in the summertime are also highly attractive to a number of pollinators.

Commonly used in a variety of culinary ways for its minty, herbal flavor profile, thyme is most popular in soups, roasted vegetables, and in compound herb butters. Mature plants typically reach a very low height of only 3-6" with a slow, creeping spread to about 12". Creeping thyme is perennial, and will last through hot, dry summers, and cold, intense winters.
