Spinach Unity Grown

The tried and true variety for all seasons of growing, the Space variety of green-leaf spinach is fast-growing, downy mildew resistant, and delicious, with a mild flavor. Younger leaves have a very mild taste and a much lighter texture, making them excellent for salads, while older leaves are great for soups or sautees.

Relatively low growing, larger spinach leaves top out at around 12" in height. Collection of individual leaves as the plant matures requires very little spacing, only 3-6" between plants, but for larger leaves or bunches, 6-12" may be required. Leaves can be harvested as soon as roots are established, and regular removal of leaves can encourage a longer growing season.

Plants are available as CP72 plugs (1.5" x 1.5" x 2.25") beginning the week of 3/17.
