'Trevi Fountain' is a hybrid cultivar of lungwort, a Eurasian genus of plants that tends to prefer shade conditions, and typically produce attractive flowers and foliage. As a resulting hybrid of Pulmonaria longifolia ‘Bertram Anderson’ and Pulmonaria vallarsae ‘Margery Fish,' the 'Trevi Fountain' cultivar takes the best of both worlds, and results in a compact plant with attractive flowers and gorgeous speckled leaves. Growing to only 10-12" tall and up to 24" wide in small clumps, 'Trevi Fountain' produces pink and purple flowers that add an incredibly striking pop of color to any shade garden, especially since they bloom from early to mid spring.
Pulmonaria x 'Trevi Fountain' prefers moist, well-drained soils in partial to full shade, but is tolerant of poor, rocky soils, as well as deer damage and black walnut polluted soils. Named for the famous outdoor fountain in Rome, 'Trevi Fountain' is sure to provide a breathtaking splash of color and showy, speckled foliage to anywhere it's planted.
