Also known as the 'Cocozelle di Napoli,' the Cocozelle zucchini is a gorgeous Italian heirloom zucchini variety with a lot of flavor. This variety is noted for their attractive dark and light green-striped skin, delicious, nutty taste, and firm green and white flesh. One of the common methods of harvest in Italy is to collect fruits when very young in order to prepare both the zucchini and the squash blossom for eating.
Typically matures for fruit production in only about 55 days. Cocozelle zucchinis are best harvested between 4" and 12" long..
For Cocozelle zucchinis, the recommended spacing is 24-30" apart in rows set about 6' away from other plants; plants are semi-vining and capable of sprawling, and large leaves may shade out other plants placed too closely.
Plants are available in 4" pots the week of 4/29.
