'Little Princess' is a cultivar of Spiraea japonica, a dense, broadly mounded, deciduous shrub bright green leaves and domed sprays of flowers; the cultivar is noted for its dwarf growth habit (growing to only two to three feet tall) and profuse, bright pink flowers. Flowers appear from late spring to mid summer, and are attractive to all kinds of pollinators, but especially butterflies. 'Little Princess' flowers rebloom through the summer, and a lower profile plus heat and cold tolerance makes this Spiraea japonica cultivar a perfect choice for hedges and border plantings as well as pollinator gardens in a variety of locations.
Note: Care should be taken with choosing a planting location for any Spiraea japonica, as they produce hundreds of small seeds every season, which are easily distributed and can lay dormant for years, making them a potentially aggressive invasive species.
