'Weihenstephaner Gold' is a cultivar of Sedum kamtschaticum var. floriferum, commonly called orange stonecrop. Sedum kamtschaticum is a low growing, mat-forming, semi-evergreen succulent perennial with dark green leaves tinged with bronzey reds. In the summer, 'Weihenstephaner Gold' produces clusters of small gold-yellow flowers that pick up shades of pink in the fall as the foliage turns to shades of burgundy and purple.

Orange stonecrop is a very low growing groundcover plant, only reaching heights of 3-6" tall, and is slow-spreading compared to other stonecrop species, with individuals typically spreading to about a foot wide. As with other stonecrops, 'Weihenstephaner Gold' does best in rocky soil or directly grown on rock in full sun.
