Phlox subulata 'Oakington Blue Eyes' is a cultivar of creeping phlox, a low growing, mat-forming, native evergreen perennial known for its flowers. The 'Oakington Blue Eyes' cultivar is so named for the flowers the phlox produces in the mid to late spring which are soft lavender-blue with a darker 'eye' in the center of each flower.

Also commonly referred to as moss phlox, creeping phlox is an excellent ground-cover plant, only growing to 4-6" tall. 'Oakington Blue Eyes' also grows well in a wide-variety of soils, provided that it's well-draining, meaning that it works for edgings and border as well as container growing.
