Pennisetum orientale 'Karley Rose' is a cultivar of Pennisetum orientale, a warm season fountain grass originally native to Asia, noted for its deep green foliage and smoky rose-purple colored bottlebrush-like flowers, as well as longer bloom time and better winter hardiness than its parent species. 'Karley Rose' is upright and clump-forming, growing to 18” tall and wide.

This cultivar of Pennisetum orientale produces 30-36" tall flower spikes that persist from June well into august before they begin to break down; in the fall, the foliage turns to shades of orange and tan, and these colors persist through the winter, adding interest. 'Karley Rose' performs best in well-drained sandy loam soil in full sun.
