Mazus reptans 'Albus,' also referred to as white mazus, creeping mazus, or Mazus miquelii, is a white-flowering cultivar of Mazus, a low-growing, evergreen, mat-forming groundcover plant that thrives in part shade and wet areas. Growing in colonies to only a few inches in height, but spreading easily, Mazus reptans 'Albus' produces a sea of small white flowers from mid spring to early summer and thrives on some rough treatment as long as its kept moist.

'Albus' is tolerant to some foot traffic, can be easily divided and propagated by ripping out chunks and replanting them, and works great as a lawn alternative since it grows low -- in fact, being kept low with a lawnmower may actually help to propagate it more quickly by spreading root material over small spaces.
