Candelabra™ is a hybrid panicle hydrangea cultivar produced for its huge, incredibly showy and lightly fragrant cone-shaped flower panicles. With dark, even green foliage, strong stems, and a compact growth habit of only four to five feet tall and wide, Candelabra™ puts on a show-stopping performance through the late spring and summer without taking up too much valuable real estate. In late spring, this hydrangea begins producing showy and delightful smelling white panicles occasionally over 12" long that slowly mature to deep rose pink over the warmer months before dying back and drying out for the fall and winter.
Best served by organically rich, well-draining soil and full to part-sun, Candelabra™ is a great choice for flowering hedge, raised beds, or as a small specimen planting, but also works great in containers thanks to its smaller stature. This panicle hydrangea is best pruned in late winter or early spring to encourage new growth and maintain a compact shape.
